15 Month Stats

Max had his 15 month check up on Friday.

He is 32 inches tall, which makes him the 75th percentile.
He is 23 pounds and 10 ounces, which makes him the 45th percentile.
His head is the 90th percentile, but I am not sure what it was. I think 19+ inches.

So he is a tall, skinny, bobblehead baby. :)

Photos to follow soon...

Yesterday I got home from work and found the whole family in the pool. So I changed into my swimsuit and got in too! I got some cute photos of Max in the pool and playing with his engineering ruler. :)

Also learned that Max ate cherries with NannyJo. I tried to give him cherries and he was having none of it. But he watched Joanna and then decided he needed to try cherries too.

And then this morning he ate cheese. I have been trying to get him to eat cheese and he has pretty much rejected it. But this morning I had an english muffin with cheddar cheese and butter. And he asked for a bite. So I gave it to him. And he was a big fan. But now I have to share my cheese! I'm not sure this is an improvement. :)

And he's making some good progress on his sign language. In addition to giving me the sign for milk while having his bottle (without me prompting him) and his almost constant use of the sign for more (which means "want" to him), he is also learning the sign for "all done" although he hasn't quite mastered it. He watches me to see what I am doing and he tries to do the same sign, but he hasn't quite mastered it. But it is pretty adorable anyway! :)

The Little Jedi Increases His Powers

So I wasn't able to capture it on film, but this weekend Max went from just holding his light saber to actually trying to use it. He won't play with it with me, and instead calls "Daddy! Daddy!" so that Mark will play with him. And when he is playing with Mark, he not only holds the light saber and moves it like he is fighting, but he also makes the light saber noise with his mouth. It is too adorable!

The littlest jedi

Max has decided that the purple light saber is his. :) And he liked it enough to stop playing with his shape sorting bucket. Quite a statement!

Max and Motorbike Max

Thanks Auntie for the fun WOW toy. I particularly enjoy that the mommy has a baby in a baby bjorn and yet just hops on into the sidecar. Max really likes playing with the tiny picnic basket. And Motorbike Max, of course!!

He climbs!

Last night I went up to bed early and Mark came up with Max at his bedtime. Max likes to snuggle with us before falling asleep and we are happy to have that little quiet time with him. So Mark came up and told me that Max had seen Julian on the couch. And he wanted to be on the couch. But he can't get up on the couch by himself. So he went and got his little yellow chair and brought it over to the couch and then climbed up on it and from there onto the couch to be with Julian! Danger! Danger! I'm glad he's such a smart baby but now I have even more things to worry about with him! :)

Celebrate Fairfax

Yesterday we spent the late afternoon at Celebrate Fairfax. Max did a little walking around but mostly hung out in his stroller. Nik, however, rode every ride he was tall enough to ride until we ran out of time and needed to leave to eat dinner. He is 47.5 inches tall and all the rides required him to be 48 inches and all the ride attendants said he was close enough. Lucky Nik! More photos will be posted to Nik's blog.

Max and Daddy

Max posing for me. He tugged on the camera strap to get me to take the camera out of my pocket, and then immediately posed for me to take his picture. That's my boy!

He's an eating machine

Last night for dinner Max had:
a 4 oz bottle of milk
half a baby yogurt
a bowl of baby rice cereal
blackberries
chili
baked potato
ginger snaps
and a bunch of water and seltzer water.

He doesn't really like the taste of the seltzer but he sees me drinking it and he wants whatever I am having. So he does the sign for "more" and points at it and opens his mouth, but he shudders when he drinks it. And then asks for more!
